Travis Hyde Joins Guernsey as Power Engineering Team Leader, Bringing Over Three Decades of Expertise from Oklahoma Gas & Electric
Oklahoma City, OK – September 24, 2024 – Guernsey proudly announces Travis Hyde, a seasoned engineering leader, as director of its Power Engineering team. With over 30 years of experience at Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OG&E), the state’s largest power supplier, Travis Hyde brings a wealth of expertise and a proven record of leadership in power engineering, strategic planning, and infrastructure development.

During his tenure at OG&E, Hyde served as Director of Engineering & Planning, managing the overall engineering needs of an annual capital portfolio of approximately $300 million. He oversaw five engineering and two planning departments, guiding the distribution and transmission infrastructure expansion, establishing performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with Oklahoma and Arkansas Professional Engineer requirements.

Hyde’s background covers nearly every aspect of power engineering, from expanding transmission grids to conducting load flow studies and designing system protection schemes.
Beyond his technical expertise Hyde is dedicated to giving back to the engineering community. He serves as Chairman of the Power Advisory Board and a member of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Board of Visitors at the University of Oklahoma, roles that allow him to engage with students and professionals alike. Travis is passionate about fostering new talent and is a familiar face at engineering career fairs, where he is often seen guiding young engineers and scouting the next generation of industry leaders.
