Guernsey Wins Energy Champions Award: Leading the Charge in Clean Energy Collaboration

Guernsey is thrilled to announce that we’ve been honored with the Energy Champions Award from the Great Plains Center of Excellence (GPCoE) at Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) Industrial Training and Assessment Center’s 1st Annual Conference in Oklahoma City. This award highlights Guernsey’s leadership in creating some of the most impactful energy efficiency projects over the past few years, particularly those that have brought together diverse partners to drive significant energy savings and successful project outcomes.

This recognition came during an inaugural event that brought together experts from the commercial, educational, tribal, and governmental sectors to tackle one of the clean energy industry’s biggest challenges: supporting and growing its workforce. At the heart of the conference was the theme of collaboration, and Guernsey stepped up to moderate and present on the panel “Maximizing Partnerships and Resources.” Our own Kumar Mayank, PhD CEM, led the discussion, while Ashish Agrawal, Director of our Energy & Utilities Solutions group, shared valuable insights on building strong, long-term partnerships—drawing from our work with the U.S. Department of Defense and beyond.

In 2023, Guernsey proudly partnered with OSU’s ITAC to help them win a U.S. Department of Energy grant, establishing OSU as one of only five regional Centers of Excellence. Over the next five years, we’re committed to supporting the GPCoE’s mission to train the next generation of clean energy professionals and ensure a resilient workforce for the future.

One exciting aspect of this partnership is our collaboration with OSU to develop a 3D virtual reality app, using Guernsey’s building as a model for students to conduct remote energy audits. Kumar Mayank, PhD CEM, facilitated this joint effort with OSU’s ITAC to start this innovative tool, blending technology and education to make clean energy training more accessible and engaging for tomorrow’s professionals.

Guernsey has been a trusted partner across sectors for over thirty years, delivering energy resiliency and efficiency solutions. We’re proud to continue our work with educational institutions, businesses, and government agencies to create a more sustainable future.
