Environmental Site Assessments
Since 2000, Guernsey has been involved with numerous aviation entities regarding the development of Phase I due diligence activities regarding the acquisition of facilities and assets for fixed base operators (FBOs) and related airport facilities.
Guernsey completed about 20 Phase I ’s for the industry over several years. In the overall performance of these studies, several environmental issues were identified during the due diligence process. Some of the more important issues identified included:
- Stormwater drainage
- Wash bay usage
- Paint booths
- Environmental compliance
- Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
- Trichloroethylene spills (TCE)
- Asbestos
- Lead-based paint
- Underground storage tanks
- Hazardous materials management
- Adjacent wetlands
- Previous environmental investigations
- Adjacent groundwater contamination
- Historical land use
All Phase I’s were performed in accordance with applicable ASTM standards.
