INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute – Renovation & Relocation
The INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute is one of Oklahoma’s leaders in the organ transplant field. Throughout this project, we sought to translate the strength and innovation the institute’s name represents into its physical appearance.
The master planning concept study’s goal was to relocate the facility from the main hospital campus to an on-campus medical office building, or MOB. The study looked at an existing eight-story MOB and developed a phased project to renovate each floor to house heart, lung, liver and kidney transplant clinics, beginning with heart and lung. Completion of this phase included a new iconic entrance, registration bays, consultation rooms and waiting space.
The institute consists of:
- A first-floor entrance; reception, registration and waiting areas; and a billing/finance office
- A second-floor heart and lung clinic
- Third-floor physician offices
- Fourth-floor staff offices
The project:
- Improved patient experience
- Improved patient flow
- Improved staff efficiency
- Added a new covered drop-off area and entrance
- Featured natural lighting in the waiting space, exam rooms and offices
- Provided an overall boost in quality with sound isolation, consistent exam room and office sizes, innovative conference spaces, and LED lighting
