Cost Estimating

It’s never too early to start the cost estimating process.

Our team will jump in from the first day of conceptual design to start building the cost estimate for funding or financing. Our estimates – produced using CostLink, MCACES or PACES – allow for quicker determination of project feasibility. In addition, the conceptual cost estimate is used to keep the project in budget, with updates made at each phase to ensure that issues are addressed promptly.

Accuracy of estimates is ensured through the use of three methods:

  • Spending time with contractors to understand cost fluctuation in materials based on geographic and other influences
  • Performing cost comparisons after bids are received to determine areas of adjustment for future cost estimates
  • Comparing information from all the databases that we use. The databases range from RS Means, to several Department of Defense provided programs, to information provided by general contractor
