Senior Utility Consultant

We seek a new full-time team member to support our wholesale cooperative team in our Oklahoma City office. You will be working as a consultant and project manager in a collaborative environment to solve problems and develop creative solutions in a variety of areas to support the needs of our clients.
In this position, you will:
- Perform analysis and manage projects to meet client needs
- Advise clients on economic or operational impacts of potential decisions / actions
- Work with other Guernsey team members and manage small teams to complete projects
- Effectively communicate with clients to provide exceptional service and build long-term relationships
A strong candidate for this position:
- Is a proactive self-starter willing to learn new skills and solve problems creatively
- Has strong analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Is experienced in the electric utility industry (10+ years preferred)
- Is skilled in using spreadsheet, analytics, or business intelligence software and working knowledge of word processing software
- Is willing to participate in some travel, as required on a project basis
- Has experience in at least several of the following areas:
- Resource planning
- Wholesale rate design
- Cost of service analysis
- Risk management / hedging
- Load forecasting
- Electric power markets
- Contract negotiation
- Regulatory proceedings
- Transmission Planning & financial analysis

Essential Physical Functions: Stand or sit – must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Walk –this position requires the ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. – 25% of the time. Full range of motion to walk, stoop and stand while working on worksites – 25% of the time. Use hands/fingers – must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer – 50% of the time. Talk – This position frequently communicates with internal and external customers, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations – 25% of the time. Vision – must be able to clearly focus on information located on a computer screen, paperwork, etc. – 50% of the time. Lift/Carry – must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. of site equipment when necessary.
