GIS Analyst

Guernsey is looking for an exceptional GIS Analyst to join our team. The Analyst will be an integral part of reinforcing and expanding our GIS capabilities as part of our vast array of consulting services.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, maintain, and update geospatial data utilizing ESRI’s suite of GIS products
    • Prepare maps and graphics conveying information from project databases
    • Upload data to Portal or ArcGIS online for use in web mapping applications, dashboards, and mobile apps
    • Support field data gathering activities
  • Assist staff with data and projection conversions
    • Perform data digitization and attribution
    • AutoCAD or MicroStation to ArcGIS
    • Geographic reference error diagnosis and correction
  • Maintain corporate GIS brand
    • Map templates
    • Minimum data and metadata needs
    • QA/QC of staff map products
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant professional field
  • Degree (preferred) in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering or a related field OR GIS certificate and related experience
  • Proficient in ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop suite, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online platforms
  • GISP® (Certified GIS Professional) preferred
  • Experience with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) is desirable
  • Excellence in written and spoken communication
  • Experience with converting AutoCAD or MicroStation products into ArcGIS is desirable
  • Experience with 3D modeling of utility data is desirable
  • Travel is required to client locations throughout the 50 states (minimum 50% travel)

Essential Physical Functions: Stand or sit – must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Walk –this position requires the ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. – 25% of the time. Full range of motion to walk, stoop and stand while working on worksites – 25% of the time. Use hands/fingers – must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer – 50% of the time. Talk – This position frequently communicates with internal and external customers, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations – 25% of the time. Vision – must be able to clearly focus on information located on a computer screen, paperwork, etc. – 50% of the time. Lift/Carry – must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. of site equipment when necessary.
