Guernsey promotes Laura Fawcett to Director of Cybersecurity Assessments, recognizing her leadership and successful initiatives in strengthening the firm’s cybersecurity practice.

As Director of Cybersecurity Assessments, Fawcett will manage all aspects of Guernsey’s assessment services, ensuring high-quality, effective Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) assessments for organizations in the Defense Industrial Base and other regulated sectors. She will lead assessment teams, refine methodologies, and maintain separation between assessment and consulting services. Her appointment strengthens leadership of assessment operations and positions Guernsey to continue expanding its independent assessment capabilities as demand for cybersecurity assessments continues to grow.

“Laura has been key to establishing our assessment program; building on our successful consulting services and advancing our role as a trusted cybersecurity partner,” said Jared Stigge, Guernsey CEO. “Her expertise and leadership have helped establish Guernsey as a leader in the CMMC ecosystem.”

Guernsey is recognized as the eighth Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) nationwide authorized to perform independent CMMC assessments for organizations seeking certification under Department of Defense standards.

Earlier this year, Fawcett was named to the CAP Committee of the Cyber AB’s C3PAO Advisory Council, a body that oversees, guides, and ensures the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the CMMC assessment procedural guide relative to authoritative guidance.

“Organizations in the Defense Industrial Base face growing pressure to demonstrate cybersecurity compliance,” said Fawcett. “I’m honored to lead our assessment practice as we help organizations navigate CMMC requirements and strengthen their cyber posture.”

Fawcett has nearly thirty years of experience across engineering, information technology, governance, risk management, and compliance for organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies across manufacturing, telecommunications, software development, critical infrastructure, and government sectors.

As federal contracting cybersecurity requirements expand, Guernsey remains dedicated to helping organizations prepare for, achieve, and maintain compliance while protecting sensitive information that is critical to national security.
