Lower Sioux Healthcare Center

The Lower Sioux Indian community is a federally-recognized tribe located in Morton, Minnesota. The 9,000-square-foot Lower Sioux Health Clinic serves a tribal population of 982 residents within a 10-mile service area and beyond.

Wound care, podiatry, and vascular access services were specific areas of need identified during the planning process due to the prevalence of diabetes in the community. Other preventative services such as primary care, nutrition education, and lab and x-ray access, help families monitor and improve their health. The clinic also has an area dedicated to physical therapy, a durable medical equipment store, and a pharmacy.

The health clinic is Phase One of a three-phased master plan. Phase Two will be dedicated to urgent care with 23-hour stay services, outpatient surgery, and outpatient diagnostics. Phase Three will provide the community with a critical care hospital and surgery suites.
