Cummins Corporate Office

Trying to manage an aggressive growth rate, Cummins needed a skillful planning and design approach to accommodate the latest in workplace technology while keeping and recruiting more talent.

An architectural/interior design collaboration, this massive corporate headquarters relocation required merged offices and professional spaces that would be flexible and future-focused. Cummins had outgrown 75,000-square-feet of space and needed to relocate many diverse departments.

The design team fashioned a solution that called for the renovation of a 190,000-square-foot building by doing all the initial planning to determine if that space was indeed a good fit for the company’s needs. The team test fit the building to see what could ultimately fit in the space and from there followed a design process that defined and redefined workplace standards.

Dealing with a very large building floor plate, a vibrant ‘main street’ was critical to help with orientation, way finding and bringing team members together. Amenities include interactive computer monitors, impromptu gathering spaces, and easy-access plug and play elements.

The project was completed on an aggressive time line in under one year from design start to completion.
