Nestled among two acres of green space in the artistic Northeast community, the lofts were designed to be a wholly sustainable environment. With a goal of full utilization of space within this four-story, 135-foot tower, the design team worked to fluidly blend living areas with social and community spaces.
Near shopping, the University of Minnesota, and downtown Minneapolis the condominiums range from live/work lofts to chic two-level homes. The team preserved historic railroad track accents in many units while others feature private terraces. The design itself was geared to maximize the outdoor culture by connecting to the future Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway, and by facilitating bicycle parking on site and inside the garage.A heavily-landscaped mall surrounds the building and an 800-square-foot shared terrace. The exercise room, conference center, art gallery, and other impressive amenities make this home unmatched in the city. The building’s legacy is celebrated in a small on-site gallery – a simple witness one of the objectives of this project: to preserve the simple, timeless elegance of a functional landmark while creating new, hip, useful living spaces.
The design team embraced and enhanced this important historic structure creating a sustainable urban environment with 124 condominiums, common areas, and office space. Neighborhood character - reimagined.
