Energy & Utility Solutions Consultant

Description of Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams in the delivery of consulting expertise, primarily in the field of public-private partnerships (PPP); Clients primarily consist of federal defense services and state universities and typical PPP transactions may include privatization, capital leasing, franchise/concession or services outsourcing
  • We work on the “sell-side” of transactions, providing strategic planning and detailed analysis to Clients who do not possess the resources necessary to fully protect their interests; this position requires the capability to team with our Clients to deeply understand their business, and then to use that understanding to critically evaluate alternatives to the Clients’ current operations
  • Typical engagements involve provision of technical and economic expertise; the Consultant must demonstrate strength in technical assessment or economic analysis, and we would highly value an individual with demonstrated capabilities in both practice areas
  • Support is needed for the following functions (listed in no particular order):
    • Engineering/technical assessments
    • Utility operation and maintenance practices
    • Utility construction management
    • Utility maintenance and construction cost estimation
    • Life-cycle cost analysis, cost/benefit analysis, economic modeling
    • Evaluation of PPP transaction proposals from technical and price perspectives

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a relevant professional field
  • Degree in Engineering field preferred, but not required
  • Ability to record and organize meticulous notes and documentation
  • Writing and communication skills are critical to our business practice
  • Must function well in a team environment and occasionally tight deadlines
  • Travel required to client locations throughout the 50 states; must commit to the potential for an average of 1 week of travel per month, with some months possibly requiring in excess of 1 week of travel away from the OKC area
  • Familiarity with government contracting (either federal, state or municipal) is desirable
  • Familiarity with Tinker Air Force Base desirable

Essential Physical Functions:
Stand or sit – must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Walk –this position requires the ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. – 25% of the time. Full range of motion to walk, stoop and stand while working on worksites – 25% of the time. Use hands/fingers – must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer – 50% of the time. Talk – This position frequently communicates with internal and external customers, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations – 25% of the time. Vision – must be able to clearly focus on information located on a computer screen, paperwork, etc. – 50% of the time. Lift/Carry – must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. of site equipment when necessary.
